History

Since 1983, Expert Choice has been improving the decision-making of businesses and government organizations around the world. Expert Choice solutions are based on the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). In the early 1980s, Dr. Ernest Forman, D.Sc. Professor of Management Science at George Washington University's School of Business and Public Management, developed Expert Choice by adapting AHP for use with personal computers and was granted several of the first personal computer software patents.

From helping to turn around IBM to helping the Joint Chiefs prioritize military threats, Expert Choice has guided leaders through a variety of critical decisions. In the 1980’s Expert Choice made its mark on the commercial market by guiding leading companies such as Xerox and Rockwell International through complex strategic planning initiatives. In the 1990’s Expert Choice expanded it’s presence in the U.S. Federal Government arena by helping officials at the Veterans Affairs and Social Security Administrations, the Department of Defense and other Federal agencies with strategic planning, source selection and resource allocation projects. At present, the U.S. Federal Government uses Expert Choice to allocate more than $120 billion per year in resources.

Today, Expert Choice serves more than 100 of the Fortune 500. Our software is also taught in over 100 universities and used in 60 countries worldwide. And 30 U.S. Federal Agencies rely on Expert Choice to help them cut their time to decision and improve their bottom lines.
