ARLINGTON, Va., March 31, 2006. — Expert Choice, Inc., a leading provider of decision making solutions, today announced the debut of Periscope™—a performance and risk management solution that helps organizations better measure performance and manage execution.
The user-friendly software solution—which can be installed internally or hosted on Expert Choice’s servers—enables organizations to align objectives and activities, and to measure and report goal attainment and performance shortfalls. The software’s intuitive Web-based interface allows managers to assess overall performance at a glance and to easily drill down to areas of concern so that they can readily identify issues before they impact higher-level objectives. Rather than simply relying on judgments and data alone, Periscope uses Expert Choice’s award-winning methodology for combining information to derive robust, actionable and immediately usable performance management knowledge. Specific applications for Periscope include corporate and government performance management, risk management, project portfolio performance management, vendor performance management, personnel performance management, and balanced scorecard.

Pricing for Periscope is determined by the number and type of licenses being sought; whether the software will be hosted internally or by Expert Choice; and the level of professional services that are necessary to integrate the software into an organization’s performance management program. System Requirements
Periscope has two main components: a desktop application and a Web-based tool for providing performance measurements, viewing performance information and for tasking individuals with remedial tasks. The hardware requirements for the desktop software are a Pentium PC running Windows NT or XP. Under Software as a Service Provision, Expert Choice can host the Web-server environment, eliminating the need to add any new software to an organization’s existing IT infrastructure. Organizations that prefer to self-host the Web-based environment will need a Microsoft Internet Information Server and an SQL Server. Other system requirements include:
Dashboard Manager: Minimum of 128MB of RAM and Pentium 500 MHz CPU, Windows NT or Windows XP.
Performance Evaluator and Viewer: Periscope account, Internet connection and browser (IE 5.0 or higher, Netscape 6.0 or higher).
Performance Evaluator and Viewer Application: Minimum of 128MB of RAM, Pentium 500 MHz CPU, Windows Server 2000 or 2003, Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) and Microsoft SQL Server.
